ABOUT the role

Footballco has recently expanded its operations in the KSA and has a newly incorporated company (“Footballco Arabia Limited”) based in Riyadh and is now looking to recruit a new [finance role]. This role will be the main finance role in the MENA region and will primarily assist with the financial accounting/reporting and tax obligations of the new company but will also provide similar support to the existing MENA entities within the group (currently three active companies) where required. The role will create a valuable local presence in KSA to cooperate with local auditors, tax advisors, customers and colleagues, helping the group to set up its operations and establish its presence in the KSA.

It should be noted that the vast majority of the group’s operations are undertaken in the UK by the parent company and most of the accounting and bookkeeping activities are performed by a finance team in Poland. The activities and accounting for the MENA entities is relatively straight-forward with a low volume of transactions.

The role will be based in Riyadh, reporting to the Head of Finance in Poland, and will involve working collaboratively with the finance teams in London and Poland, the Finance Business Partner based in Dubai, as well as with colleagues based in Riyadh.


What you'll be doing
  • Work with the group financial reporting team to support the preparation of the financial statements for the new Saudi company, including local GAAP adjustments as required, and assist in the preparation of financial statements for other MENA entities

  • Support the group financial reporting team on the local statutory audits of the MENA entities including cooperation with local auditors and delivery of deliverables to the auditors

  • Cooperate with the accounting team in Poland regarding day-to-day postings in the accounting system and assist with account reconciliations

  • Perform accounts receivable and cash collection duties in the KSA and MENA region, acting as the main finance point of contact for customers in the region

  • Manage the e-invoicing process for the new entity in the KSA, working closely with the Accounts Receivable team in Poland to ensure ongoing compliance

  • Help ensure local finance/tax regulations and nuances are understood and complied with

  • Support the local tax compliance for MENA entities, including CIT, VAT and WHT, through cooperation with the Tax team (managed by the UK-based Group Tax Manager) and with local tax advisors

  • Support the General Manager of Footballco Arabia Limited and other local stakeholders in financial matters

  • Assist with the filing of required declarations on government portals / handling communication with government authorities

WHAT YOU HAVE
  • Financial statements preparation (or significant assistance with) under Saudi GAAP

  • General financial accounting experience

  • Involvement in financial audits and cooperating with auditors

  • Relevant accounting professional certification

  • Familiarity with CIT, VAT and WHT in KSA

  • Must be fluent Arabic and English speaker

  • Excellent stakeholder management

  • Good communicator with strong initiative

  • Oracle NetSuite experience (nice to have but not required)

  • Experience in media (nice to have but not required)
